OH MY what a great site! The next to last entry is my fave. I looked at everything on the site (1 page) FUN FUN FUN! Do they still have yo yo contests? When I was a kid I wanted some PF Flyers. When we got to the store I let my dad talk me into a pair of Joe Lapchick tennis shoes. He said Joe was the best! It was a money thing I'm sure. All the kids laughed at my Joe Lapchicks. Good times! Good times!

Nice clip.....if I really strain my brain I can remember some of that stuff. And you're lucky to get that much out of me.

I'll put this clip in a special place and I promise when I start feeling like a human being again, I'll respond to it. My allergies are so bad, it feels like my eyeballs are on fire. It's not doing a whole lot for my thinking abilities. Sorry, Richclips, I'm just no fun today.

@chez Bummer dude. What are you allergic to?
Put a wet washcloth over your eyes for 10 minutes or so.
Janet has hay fever bad, here in the Willamette Valley where the pollen count is off the charts. She had some success with bio-meridian therapy but that seems to have lost favor in the homeopathic world. All the usual over-the-counters don't do it, so holding your breath 'til July 4th is about it around here.
Aren't you Michiganian? Nothin' to be allergic to up there!
Good luck

I couldn't get to it by using your clip, but I did a google search and found it--what a gem! And I do remember all these advertising pictures/items. The Dance Party, Senior Proms/high school dances looked like that, then. I don't remember the newspaper article advice for wives, but my mother was unusual in that she worked back then, so those rules for wives didn't work at our house. But then I had a live-in grandmother(my father's mother), who made sure dad got treated like this, but then dad was an only child, and my grandfather had died while my dad was still a child, sorta like a mother hen with only one chick.

I grew up on Leave It To Beaver and even tho my Mother worked after I went to high school, she still did it all...almost right out of the ad. But, as I remember, she was real flexible but never took any shit. Not that as a teen I would ever cause any grief,,,hah.

Hi Richclips, I'm doing a little better with the allergies but you might be right about holding my breath until the 4th of July. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't in my eyes. I've been to the doctor twice this week and I'm not one to run to the doctor over the least little thing.

So, we must have a bunch of baby boomers on clipmarks. Isn't it great? I grew up on Leave it to Beaver too. Over the years, I've had a lot to say about how families have changed. I believe that we are now seeing the effects of those changes. I don't know if the situation can reverse itself or not but I doubt if we get to see it in our lifetimes. At least we have our memories, and precious they are.

Yeah chez, seems to be a bit of a return to more family involvement with the economic squeeze and less compulsion to over achieve thru overtime. Some will be pressed harder as the opportunities demand and some will just do with less. It may be the silver lining for a lot of folks that just want a smooth ride on the merry-do-round and don't have to go for the brass ring all the time.

Hope the rain has helped your allergies. I saw that Racine got 7 inches in 24 hrs and parts of Michigan 4.
More problems than allergies for some. Rich

Thanks Richclips, I am feeling better, don't look very good though, that one eye is still half shut and refuses to open all the way. I think it's afraid. . We got a couple of inches of that rain yesterday and that helped.
Now I'm having computer problems. If it isn't one thing it's another.
It's good to hear from you Rich. I'm glad we got past those bumps in the road.
