The question is: How a person has decided to act in the future? The understanding could find use in mind-reading methods under development to enable tetraplegic to move prosthetic limbs and operate computers.

Also we cannot forget there is another sort of intentions (rather, memories?) such as ways of riding bicycle, playing football, even walking and running, all of which aren't specific information but relatively general memory.

If the mind reader could deal with memory like those, it would play a great role in rehabilitation of who've been vegetable for decades. With that instrument, found out information that has been archived before the person became such a situation, and then by doing something let the person remember the memory, so that the person could recover from incompetence.
