Of course, being Jewish, Lieberman can always go to Israel and receive excellent care under a Public Option health care system.

He doesn't have to go to Israel to receive the most excellent care. He already has it. Congressmen and the President (and families) are exempt from this very same health care plan that they are proposing for you & me.

Why the Democrats don't fucking kick Lieberman to the curb and tell him to go caucus with the Republicans is WAY beyond me.

More importantly......... why doesn't whiney Joe
propose legislation to make it mandatory that
Congress and all government employees start paying into Social Security, and accept the same EXACT healthcare as they are proposing.for all of us........

I have heard the argument..but not ONE legislator has
opened their mouth to suggest this proposal..........
Not one. Democrat or Republican.........

I wish they would do that as well, but it seems they are a bit smarter than you (60 being the magic number and all).

I hadn't considered that. Fair point (personal jab & all).

OTOH, how much of a magic number is it if Lieberman continues his 15 year pattern of fighting to kill healthcare any and all real healthcare reform? The magic 60 is only a real thing after the votes are counted.

Personally, I might just be willing to say "Fine, we'll take 59, and then let the Republicans become the "party of NO", and all they do is stop bills from getting passed. Let them get pai...

No way the democrats even have 59. Fact is they have already talked about bypassing the filibuster, but there is some doubt that they could even get 50 votes if they did.

One must admit, the Republicans have a much stronger history re: making their members vote the party line once they get elected than the Democrats.

@jatfla - my point is that he can decide to go to Israel for Public Option Health Care. He is aware that Public Option exists in Israel and is one of the best systems in the world. And, as you have correctly pointed out, as a member of Congress he is entitled to FEPB. Think about that for a moment, the health care access that Lieberman and his family have is .... I can't even think of a word to describe it. Privileged. That's is what it is ... privileged and way, way beyond the reach of most Americans.
