What is scary is that Vesuvius is still very much alive and the residents of Naples could end up like this any time.

I had the good fortune of visiting Pompeii twice and the second time was as magical as the first. On both occasions there were only a handful of tourists and so basically I had the place to myself. What a remarkable experience it was.
