Chydenius-mitalin myönnettiin nyt ensimmäistä kertaa kansainvälisistä ansioista elinkeinoelämän avoimuuden edistämiseksi. </P>Linux on säätiön mielestä ollut uraauurtava esikuva avointen innovaatioiden toimintamalleille.<P class="leipis">Kokkolalainen kirkkoherra, valtiopäivämies <B>Anders Chydenius</B> oli 1700-luvun Ruotsi-Suomessa merkittävä avoimen talouden ja avoimen hallinnon puolestapuhuja. Tänä vuonna vietettiin ensimmäisen kerran suomalais-ruotsalaista "tietämisen vapauden päivää"  2. joulukuuta, joka on Chydeniuksen aikaansaaman painovapausasetuksen eli maailman ensimmäisen julkisuuslain vuosipäivä.
