I just look at all the evidence that is available. "A cult of personality arises when a country's leader uses mass media to create an idealized and heroic public image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise." That is Obama to a tee. Only the misinformed would think otherwise. So far He has broken nearly every campaign promise He has made. For example, pulling the troops out of Afghanistan, since He has been President He sent 10's of thousand more troops there. While publicly criticising Bush he has continued and accelerated many of his draconian policys, like wire tapping the public etc... Obama has plenty of critics, including many of his former supporters. The idea of Obama having a "Cult of Personality" is entirely a construct of the Right Wing. And whether you like it or not, your attitudes and beliefs place you somewhere on the political scale, whether they be Right (Conservative) or Left (Liberal) and Libertarian (Freedom) or Authoritarian (Oppression). We all fit on the scale somewhere. Saying that you're not Left or Right is like salt protesting that it's not salt. It's a descriptive term for the lean of your ideals. |
