What a remarkable story. Donald Thomas was a basketball player when his friend dared him to high jump one day. Now he's the World Champion.

I was a high jumper for years -- to see a natural talent go out and clear heights like this with very little experience is breathtaking.

Will make me think twice the next time someone dares me to do something.

He wanted to be a basketball player and enrolled at Lindenwood University in Missouri. But he did not enjoy the program and eventually took the high-jump dare from a friend who had seen him dunk a basketball with great ease.
