An executive order was issued by the president, on the 17th of July, and it said, basically, that if you protest or threaten what he calls “stabilization efforts in Iraq,” your property can be seized and you can be detained.
Hmm... long live King George!!

Or should I say Mr Nobody? Another anonymous

you join the military and become someone? Then
maybe will listen to your reality check.

"I am not deluded in what I see and I am not canon-fodder, a slave or a fool. I am a human being just like you. If you can’t organize and strategize and mobilize then you don’t care enough to get what you deserve and you will get what you deserve.

Everywhere I go and everything I read and everything I see indicates more people coming to realize that the world hangs in the balance every day this dysfunctional machine of empire continues." -- Il_Bagattel

What thrill is gotten out of cracking on your country with statements that are not at all in the spirit of truth?
What are the secret little personal benefits derived from being an instigator of toxic thought which contributes nothing to the overall good of anything or anyone?

There were people like you in WWII davboz. They held the party line and followed their leaders without question as well. Then they were tried as Nazi War Criminals.

The benifit is a clear conscience, the contribution is an honest America, and the good is self evident to those that don't burry their head in the sand and let others think for them.

Do you tell all of your potential dates that you're a secret agent? I'll bet they get really turned-on by someone taking such big risks blogging on the internet.

Are all of you guys secret agents? If you are, do your mom's know about it? Wouldn't want her walking into your room while you're analyzing sensitive data from your decoder ring.

Did you all watch Star Wars Episode III 36 times?

And I've already fulfilled my military obligations, thank you very much.

Thank god i live in australia.

Bush is a power hungry freak.

He is in my country for the Apec Summit, and I hope someone gets past security and bloody shoots him!

A loss for noone.

He hates animal rights, and has NO compassion.

You still have no profile. What are you hiding?

You say you did your military commitment.
Prove it. Go to this URL and sign in. You will be giving them your military status. They will check to make
sure you are not a pretend warrior.

I didn't realize this thing had profiles attached to it.

I read yours. My apologies if I offended you. However, we still disagree.

I'm an American Jew and I did what a lot of Jewish kids did in the 80's. 3 years in the IDF. Which means I have an automatic bias against the current Pan-Islamic Terror Network, because I had these guys up in my face.

What is being presented here is anecdote. I don't like anecdote. I like statistics and raw numbers. If I smoke 1 cigarette every month, I won't get lung cancer. But if I smoke 2 packs a day, I increase my chances of contracting it, The difference? Numbers. If you see numbers, you see trends, commonality.

You can blow your condescending secret agent crap out of your ass, thank you.

The fact of the matter is that, given the current state of affairs of distortions and suspensions of US citizens rights and due process in the legal structure, ANY individual who is posting political commentary is "at risk" from state censure in a manner no US citizen has ever before endured, save perhaps those innocent loyal Japanese descendants confined in WW II. The forces of anti-freedom govt. powered extensions of BushCo. may not be at Clipmarks today, but they may very well be tomorrow, and in leaving a clear electronic trail of blogs, clips, or any other publicly accessible political commentary crit...

My apologies to you also. I can be a real smart ass, condescending jerk sometimes.

And though I may not join you, I applaud your efforts at stimulating dialogue and fighting to preserve our Constitution.

I have hereby been humbled.

Thanks for your rationality, 204.

As to the question of what the fascist NeoCons really want, let davboz, that scholar of all proper thinking, voice it for me:
These days it is hard to distinguish between cries for retaining our rights, and those who are infiltrating and instigating - ala Communist operatives in the '50's.These days we seem to be used to just blowing them off and dismissing them if we disagree. We used to take these actors more seriously.

Let's hope the FBI and such are totally sneaking around and looking into who it is behind these voices
I may be paranoid, but it isn't because I want to be so.

It helps to have friends at the NSA.

I think your comment drew such a reaction because its has become a common canard to accuse those who worry about civil liberties of a) not "understanding" the threat and/or b) becoming a fifth column for the enemy.

Both accusations are flat out wrong (in at least 80% of the time). What I and I think many other object to is the exploitation of a very real threat abroad to justify unwarranted actions at home.

As someone who served in the IDF and probably still have contacts in Israel, I am sure that you probably saw for yourself that even in a nation under the gun, policies, politics and public opinion varied widely, do they not. Are they treated with the same contempt as they are here?

It was the 80's. I was a kid living on a kibbutz. Jeez, gimme a break.
This is my final say on the subject. Last night a friend of mine had some very enlightening things to say that made a light go off in my head, and led me to apologize for my flippant remarks.

I still think you guys are a bunch of nutjobs but... as my buddy pointed out - without the nutjobs WE WOULD HAVE NO RIGHTS.

The first example he gave was Larry Flynt. Everyone knows Flynt is a scumbag, but if he didn't scream and rant in the courts, fighting the powers that be for the right to be a scumbag, we would have no 1st Amendment!

Another one he gave was Ted Nugent and other screaming, ranting ...
