If that were the case, why on earth would SUV's and trucks be selling so well. They think we are stupid and they are going to use it to push through their agenda. You think you're so smart? Soon we will be forcing you to wait in line to get a permit that allows you to go before your local government transportation board to prove you need to have some kind of transportation and should this then be approved you will join the queue to receive whatever kind of vehicle we will allow you to purchase (2000% global warming tax additional). And you will LIKE it. first of all, what american cars cost thousands more than japanese or european cars in the same class? even korean cars don't cost less than american cars any more. people aren't passing up american cars because imports are cheaper. secondly, healthcare does drive up the price of american cars (even though they're not mor expensive than imports) but that wouldn't be a problem if american cars were still selling. thirdly, the cure for taking the burden for employee healthcare off the car companies' backs is that national healthcare you don't like. what else do you think can happen? the employees will just start to pay for it out of their current salaries, effectively taking a $15,000 ... |
