Ask Norman Finkelstein what happened to his freedom of speech. He lost his job solely for writing his books. First Alan Dershowitz tried to stop the publication and then failing that, Dershowitz lead a crusade to get Norms tenure denied and in this he succeeded. In Europe and Canada, and Australia one can be put in prison for their speech.
