Maybe he only uses Walter Reeds that don't cause him any trouble. Same way he picks reporters.

Maybe it's like the surge. When your original mission fails, you change it to something you can do, keep the same name, and tell everybody how successful it is at what it (now) does.

Maybe it's like Sarah Palin: Couldn't do the job he's talking about, but might get the title.

you're all heart, masbury. The original mission is still ongoing, most likely will be until our guys come back. That same original mission has been drastically improved due to the surge. I realize it's difficult for you guys, you miss those daily explosion reports with casualty counts & you were really counting on those to help you with the election, but those petty wants aren't what's important. The violence is way down and things are improving in Iraq and that's what's important.

And whether Palin can do the job or not - you don't know, since she hasn't started yet. Besides, she'll be the 2nd fiddle, and at least has some executive experience, so there are possibilities... you're the...
