What's really galling is that people think that the government would be worst than the private sector bureaucrats who do things like this. And then there's the case of Alex Lange.

For all the problems Canadian Healthcare has (which only amount to minor inconveniences), I've never had the government tell me that I have to leave the hospital while I was in the midst of treatment or convalescence.

People who oppose socialized medicine/universal healthcare are complete and total idiots.

When you think about it, there may actually be more accountability in a government-run system. Consider; the politicians eventually have to worry about pissed-off consitiuencied voting them out if they don't like how they're treated. Private insurers, however, are only accountable to their shareholders, whose only interest is profits, not patients. That's a situation that encourages companies like Horizon to pull crap like this.
