i've needed to replace my blackberry for months now. so hard to pull the trigger because there is always something better that comes out within 2 months.

Yeah, I hear ya. I think this new 8100 is going to be the one... been dying for a camera on my current Blackberry.

What would be the charm of blackberry if it turns out to be just like another cell phone? I don't like this keyboard, I'd stick with my 7520 nextel.

I love this keyboard! For messaging, I really wanted a QWERTY keyboard, but didn't want the expansive larger models of Blackberry. I like being able to carry (1) device in my front pocket that serves as my cell phone, message center and portable Internet.

For me personally, the SmartType keyboard has been the best of both worlds.... small, but completely functional from a "touch type" sense.
