The design of these generators is remarkable. Its basically a paddeboat that you fly like a kite. It generates energy as it spins in the wind and stays afloat with helium (or potentailly hydrogen).

They're made of incredibly durable kevlar like material, so they should last a while as well.

I imagine that if peak oil ever does come to pass, seeing these flying from houses will be a common sight.
