I saw a show once dealing with deaf families who chose to get cochlear implants for their deaf children. In one case, the deaf grandparents were very much against it. They thought it was a bad thing for the deaf community and feared the day when there may be no one left who was deaf.

Just an interesting parallel to what might happen if there is indeed a physical cure for homosexuality and how people might react to parents having their children cured.
