lollipop10 says: Anyone have any good/bad/ugly stories with these brands? Anyone have any advice they'd like to share? Does it count if I just want one and can't afford to buy one? Which one would you buy if you could, and why? I don't feel like I can afford one, but I really think I'm going to need a second computer.... Geesh, I'll be no help at all Lolli. I'm running a desktop with Windows 98. I did buy someone I love a new Dell lappy though--and it's great for the price--but I don't like a laptop. Well i've thought about another desktop, but as a student i'm just wondering if i'll regret it. It's a four year course, so i'll be in school plenty of time.... I wouldn't buy a desktop unless you preferred it to a laptop. Most ppl I know prefer a laptop, especially students, and laptops have never been cheaper. Dell has good back to school sales and usually good Christmas sales. Those are the best times to look online. I think technology advances so fast that by the time you get the damn thing in the mail it's outdated, so unless you were a big gamer, I can't see spending a lot of money for one especially for school. I mean, IMHO and since you are a student on a limited budget you can take a look at these cuz any one of them would probably meet your needs. The hitch, if it is one, is that i know anytime i'm not on it, my kids are gonna want to use it for games. I've never let them get too carried away with what they've bought for games, but my son is 10 and my daughter almost 13, so my guess would be that i should have at least some gaming capabilities too. I currently have a Mac, but i do use PC's at the college. I'll have to check out Wal Mart... Ah, I see. That would make a difference. Good luck! |
