Languages are being murdered faster than ever before. What does this mean? The article ties linguistic diversity (LD) to biodiversity (BD). The two diversities seem to enforce and support each other. When the language dies, the knowledge dies with it. Interesting article for anthropologists and linguists.

Thanks for this clip mousie. I followed a link you had put on another clip to get here. I think we should work at not pushing people to the brink of extinction like what has happened and continues to happen to the Native peoples of the Americas.

I subscribe to the Cherokee Advocate, the newspaper of the Eastern Cherokee Nation. It is printed in both English and Cherokee. They offer language courses and actively encourage tribal member (and others who are interested) to learn to speak and read this Native American Language.
