Reminds me of Lester's neighbour in 'American Beauty'. Such types, as studies have found, are often military fetishists, unable to relate to women in anything approaching a healthy way, racist, and passionate about portraying themselves as 'a man's man' who spends as much time as possible with guys; they tend to be either childless or extremely unhealthy parents. Such tough guys don't dance, of course.

I absolutely agree that some use the guise of hating homosexuals as a way to effectively bring the subject as to not bring attention to the fact they seem really interested in the subject.
