Wow, that's one heck of a lot of people! Yes, at first they only claimed tens of thousands, looks more than the 100s of thousands they claimed later. It truly does look like a million. Totally fake! I heard there were just 5 people there, including a hot dog vendor and a street sweeper and a t-shirt salesman (he only sold 2 shirts cause capitalism is eeeeevil). The media will lie about how many people were there, and nothing will change because of your presence. Welcome to the world of activism, conservatives. I am not the least surprised that you leftys are not beleiving the facts and pictures. I didn't expect you to. You wouldn't know the truth if it slapped you in the face... These pictures are real, no matter how hard you try to discredit them. I'm not a lefty, dear. Just someone who's reporting another side to this "story." Thats one picture . .dear. What about the other picture dear. The ones that really are from the 9/12 rally . .dear. Looks like thousands to me. Dear. — Comment removed by moderator — Toss out "lefty" to a moderate/conservative, you get a bit back. And I've not disputed that thousands showed up at the 9/12 rally. It's a vast difference, however, from a couple million. Oops. My apologizes, kareval. The photo I linked to was one used by other conservative blogs; it is not the photo you clipped. This seems to be the question of the day from the Right, the Left, and everyone in between. With no official numbers as of yet, there continues to be widespread speculation. FreedomWorks had originally planned the sound system to be able to reach 100,000 people at the event, but they are now reporting that most of the people in attendance could not hear the speakers. YouTube user JohnDarash, who was at the rally, had this to say, The media will have you to believe that only thousands or perhaps tens of thousands of people came to Washington. Well, the media does what it does best and that is to not report on anything that is not the will of the governing elite. But I am here to tell... ABC never reported that there were 1.5 million attendees. An organizer attributed that claim to them, which they quickly denied. Homeland Security never reported that there were 2 million attendees. That number came from the Daily Mail, a right-wing British tabloid, with absolutely no attribution. Nate Silver, a liberal, but a widely-acknowledged and trustworthy numbers man, writes that the estimate of the Fire Department is the most accurate. Silver then explains: I was in Washington for... We don't need to concentrate on the NUMBERS. If twelve honest people showed up...........we would have gotten the message across.........We don't gather and protest to impress the opposition.......... we do it to make our voices heard........and CHANGE the insanity. Our voices were heard for sure...well put MP |
