This is the cheapest spinning wheel I've found, and this site seems to have the cehapest price for it. It has a built-in Lazy Kate and comes with six bobbins. I think it's pretty neat that it's made with PVC pipe and a wheelchair wheel. Clever!

I've found a lot of plans for making one's own spinning wheel (like this one http://www.pjsadventures.com/DragonsKeep/personal/PVCWheel.html). One the one hand, I'm lazy; on the other, I don't have two hundred bucks to spend on this. Also, as Nick says, we also have lots of PVC glue.

Either way, this is pretty cool!
