chestnut501 says: Consider adopting a horse Wow. Who knew? Thanks! Why not castrate / sterilize some of them ? I think that's a very good idea. Hopefully when they review their options, they will take that into consideration. T. Boone Pickens and his wife have volunteered to custody of them and care for them, since they're animals lovers. I would adopt a horse, but I live in the city. There are ways you can sponsor a horse, without actually having to buy one. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=sponsor+a+wild+horse&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq= Hey, That's great! Thanks thisnamecan'tbetaken. merrie, Great news about T. Boone. I could tell you were a horse lover Sponsoring is a great way to feel you're doing something. I *have* 4 sponsor dogs in Greece and (had) a cat in Lebanon, who are now off the streets and happy. (The cat was, not long ago, adopted by a family in the US and flown over to them. That feels really good to know she's happy and taken care of.) . That's the sweetist thing I've heard in a long time. I just love cats but I had to have my last one "put to sleep" last year and I vowed I'd never have another one because it's just too painful when they die. Great sorrow yes, but ALL the joy they bring for many many years while they're here, makes it up for it a hundred million times. Also, I feel, adopting a new poor animal, after I've lost a pet, is like honouring the pet that died. I lost my most beloved cat 2 years ago and went to Greece and took a wretched little street cat home. (I have two I've brought back from Greece. Aisha and Murphy. (You can see pics of them. There's a link on my profile page. I know my old cat that died, is smiling. They all are. . Besides, that's the whole point of the clip, isn't it? Adopting animals who need our help? I'd be just itching for a new little fuzz ball to care for, if I were you. Awww...You have a whole family. Aisha was wretched, and now look at how healthy she is. I love the picture of her with the hat on. Its that same look they all get when you try to dress them up. I can only imagine what they're thinking. Yes, I'd love a little fuzz ball and the temptation is certainly there. But even if I were at peace with the whole life and death thing, I'm not really at peace with me. I live in Northern Michigan which is really sparsely populated. I love the country, on one side of me is a National Forest and on the other is one of the Great Lakes. Problem is that I have things I have to do with my life that I just can't do here. Before I have another cat (or two) I'm goin... I hope you get in a position to have pets again. As they say, music and cats are what makes life bearable. If not, then sponsoring is still a really good option. Many organisations (and private people) send updates and photos on the progress of their charges. That's very heart-warming too. I wish you all the best and hope things brighten up for you. You seem to have a lot of love left to give to some poor unfortunate little critter (or two). . |
