Have heard variations of this stuff my whole life. When it pops up in new forms and variations, I have to become skeptical and put up my 'red flags' of alert. Remember in 'Clockwork Orange' how technology completely solved the problem inherent in the individual but by doing so the rights of 'free will' were violated. That story ends with the restoration of free will, even with the terrible actions which are once again brought to new life. Of course proponents of transhumanism wish not to see any semblance between the two, but that's to be expected. The rest of us see new problems, not just answers. pphilipp, of course there will be new problems, but those will be answered too, not moving forward just because new problems might arise, will stop all motion of human advancement. |
