If the cop was a mind reader, she would have known that she was looking at a blank slate, but as it was, all the cop saw was someone with a knife. Because the video begins to shake at 0:39, the allegation that she was slammed is questionable. It just may be that the recorder of the incident was an opportunist looking to cash in on what will surely be debated as a racial incident. The fault of this lies with the daughter. Where was she when all this was going on? She is as culpable of negligence as one who leaves a child or a dog alone in a car. There is no mention as to how long the old lady was left in the car or what the temperature inside the vehicle was. There is no judgmen... Another proud moment for law enforcement. The policewoman must not have thought the woman, even with a knife, was a threat or else she would not have gotten close enough to her to body slam her. And the reason the general public persists in denigrating police as "scumbags" is because their 'expectations' are already being realized. I have seen too many videos and read too many stories to see it any other way. Sure there are some good cops but there is an overwhelming chance of meeting up with one who would rather throw you on the ground or taser you first and ask questions later. In Denmark, you can walk up to a cop and say hello or get your picture taken with them or with the guards in front of the Royal palace etc, so when I was in the US last time and saw a real life US police car, (Just like on TV . Well, thanks to the trained monkey operating the camera, it's impossible to tell from that footage whether the woman was knocked down, or if she just fell. To me, it looks more like the latter. Perhaps a little too much zeal was used in getting her to let go of the knife once she was down, but it certainly wasn't "scumbag"-level. As someone who as worked with senior citizens, even the most frail elder can have a remarkable about of strength; especially when they're gripping something. It seemed to me, more than anything, that the crowd aggravated the situation, making the poor woman even more confused.
