I've noticed a change at Clipmarks. No longer is it a place to share the web. Clipmarks is a collection of the worlds most nasty, obscene, hatred-filled news our world has to offer. It is filled with bigotry and hatred for anything and anyone.
Most of the clips are slanted to an agenda and the discovery is now a distant memory. The comment streams echo some of the most jaded personalities I have ever met.
Its worse than the opinion page of the local newspaper.
I challenge you to break the pattern and return to the clipmarks of old. Discover and share the web, not the attitude.

This must be why Clipmarks is not included on any ones ''"Share" blog list' at the end of an article.

@skwirlinator I don't see what einbar see,s as admiral in your sweeping accusations in fact your churlish self absorbed nature has not to my knowledge had a reciprocating encouraging pop in return for the ones I used to give you.Other experienced clippers like the afore mentioned have encouraged new players ,left right Muslim christian comic science I for one find your comments as self absorbed as some of the other old players who over time have built up a following and let it go to their ego wanking heads not mentioning any names as their followers take the cue not be nice too.Who cares what your old clipmarks was times have changed there are new players.Complain to clipmarks they wont answ...

I think that you're right about clipmarks no longer being a place to "share" the web. Like the web itself, it has evolved into so much more. Hopefully, everyone will be able to keep up.

Unless you are more specific, I don't understand your grievance Skwirl The web is full of information, opinions, gossip, & news. Of course people are going to clip articles that interest them in particular and that is what the POP system is all about. And the comment section is to encourage discussion of the topics of interest. OMG, the clipmarks of old? I, for one, don't ever want to go back to those days when Eric was forced to threaten pulling accounts. I felt like I had to put on a suit of armor just to pull up my email.

@dellarae - Clipmarks doesn't appear in those lists of services because the technology Clipmarks is doesn't have any similar function to them. A link like that will not invoke the clipping function.

As to Skwirl's concern, time to buck up, buster because it surely won't be going in the direction you seek anytime soon. We are all here for our own reasons and with our own beliefs and concerns. You can't herd cats, and you can't control clippers. While I personally do try to clip humor and intellectually curious material, nothing short of outright banning will stop me from clipping those pages of political interest to me, nor from voicing my opinions as I see fit.

You are way off, Skwirl. The CM team is on top of the problem. No more combining the words Clipmarks and Marx in a cute little twist of sarcasm. They nipped that in the bud.

I think the issue, skwirl, is that CM has replaced free market clipping with a business model of internet attraction. That means making cm an attractive community to the dominant online 20 and 30 something ignorant crowd. Not too many rightists to scare off the unemployed and uneducated ( or, schooled, if you will) masses.

Just my opinion, but I have been saying since they started all this censorship tweaking that clipmarks is not a democracy of ideas. It is a representative republic. However, those in control are a...

Well, I'd sure prefer to see a reduction in propaganda clips and clips meant to provoke hate, but I basically agree with bartendingbear. I don't clip much about politics, but I certainly wouldn't hesitate to clip things that interest me, nor should anyone.

Skwirl:

Why don't you elaborate more on what really bothers you as opposed to the last comment? I don't even understand the nature of the clip except that it sounds so jaded and I truly don't mean to be rude by saying that.
