Wonder how far he got before he went under? Maybe he was high on drugs and just kept going thinking wooo coool. The other option is once he realized he couldn't do it, he might have just figured no use in living as he would have to face all his people and say he was wrong.

If anyone is counting I think this is the 2nd False Messiah that has been in the news. The first was that kid in Thailand or wherever.
I forget what that revelations stuff says about how many false ones will appear before doomsday, etc...

It's truly a shame that so many believe this in the literal sense. My understanding / belief is that the "walk on water" is a metaphor. Maybe Christ walked on water but for the most part - until we achieve a level of godliness, "walk on water" to us is "creating our own miracles in life." We reap what we sow.
