Ask them to vote “yes” on HB 357 and SB 167. These would require health insurance companies to pay for services for children with autism. These needed services are not covered by most insurance.</P><P>The most common services needed include speech, occupational and physical therapy. Also, social skills training is particularly important as these children begin middle school. </P><P>Many parents have exhausted all their financial resources to pay out of pocket for these services. They fall between the cracks and are not eligible for Medicaid or the Children’s Health Program in Missouri.</P><P>We think this bill would be an economic stimulus.
