Jorjor - From what I understand, it makes no difference if you have ever used a messaging program or not, this windows messenger service is apart of windows. It is a windows service that can be turned on and off. I am not absolutely sure but I believe the purpose of this windows service is to provide communication between computers on a local network. The only way to turn it off is to go into the Administrative Tools an change the control value to off. This program will do it for you making the task much easier for those not familiar with using administrative tools.
