sohil says: This was one of my first clips. I'm resurrecting it all my clips that went "private" per skwirl's suggestion. Yeah, I guess inventing math, yoga, enlightenment and non-violent protests are great, but seriously, I think the biggest impact you guys had was Chicken Tika Marsala. I mean, inventing zero is cool and all, but I kind of have the feeling I could have done that if you all didn't. Now getting the British to start eating spicy food? That's a real achievement! (and I'm only half joking) @ouyandwulong, LOL. I am enjoying your resurrection, Sohil. Actually ouyandwulong, Chicken Tika was invented by the British (I'm not joking). It was apparently done by a British cook in an Indian restaurant. Thanks debbyski. I take my words back, I was just rereading that article and found out that it was invented by a British customer (indirectly). The cook was Indian apparently. My mistake, ouyangwulong I'm more of a Murgh Makani man myself, but it's the Britishness of Chicken Tikka Marsala that makes it so significant. Somehow being able to make Indian food British really blows my mind. It's like in the singularity of a black hole where the curvature of space and time becomes infinitely large, and suddenly you have the English cooking with peppers. In a more serious note, although the more philosophical concerns may be most relevant to us, one could argue that there is no greater cultural impact you can make on the daily lives of normal people than by changing the way they eat. In case anyone doubted how important Curry may be, it apparently is as good as sex and money. |
