My favorite thing about Clusty ( what a cool name!) is the context menu features. Very cool little popup responses to highlighted text queries for definitions or encylopedia (wikipedia) info.

no particular reason other than i hate the name Clusty. Sounds like something i wouldn't want to have or be. More importantly though, i do think they offer a great service...and i'm surprised they haven't grown bigger faster...could be the name?

Eric, you're crackin' me up here. I don't get it. Clusty is short for cluster. Clusty clusters search results in a unique way. It's descriptive.

Godfrey, i know Clusty is short for cluster so i totally respect it from a literal perspective. But i have to say that the first thing that comes to mind when i hear "clusty" is some kind of sexually transmitted disease or something that would happen if i ate bad fish.

That's hilarious! I wonder if anyone else makes similar associations.

ok, i was just kidding about not liking the name. what i meant to say is that Clusty is a very cute, adorable name that i would never change. In fact, i would have named this Clusty instead of Clipmarks if Clusty wasn't already taken. I'm just jealous!

I'm with Eric (or rather I was with Eric until he caved), to me Clusty sounds too much like rusty or clutter. It's something I'd associated with being old, out-of-date.

i once dated this girl in college but i broke up with her when she told me she had Clusty...there, i said it!!!

Lusty Clusty and clutter. Lions and tigers and bears oh my. I happened to browse over to the Clusty today from a link at Diggs. And funny that the name should be an issue as it reminded me of clustrophobic after reading the details of the service. lol what a fluster cluck. ;o)

But in all honesty, it's probably a great service for those who need / desire it. I shied away for now but not without bookmarking it in my browser favs for future possibility.

Don't be put off by our goofin' on the name. It's well worth using, especially if you use The Fox

PS - wasn't put off at all by the goofin' Had made my decision prior to reading this thread. Would still like to know more about it however and how it works with Fox.

Well, using it online is just like using any search engine in that you put in your search terms and hit search. It just has a very cool way of organizing the results.
With the FF extension you get a toolbar which has a nice toggle feature so that it's not taking up space when not in use. But my favorite feature is the dictionary, web, and encyclopedia lookup function in the context menu. Highlight a word, select your search, and very quickly a small non-browser window popup appears right there next to your highlighted word.

and the wordsmith strikes again...
