For example in manufacturing say, a car, how many gallons of water, solvents, chemicals, paints are used; or how many tonnes of plastic, wood products etc are used as well? Sustainable fusion reactions have been 10 years away since I first read about them in grade school.

Theoretically they're possible (heck, the sun gives us a natural example of their potential every day) but I just don't know if this will come in time.
