The explanation is ridiculous; they could live anywhere & have their kids start school. I think Obama thinks he should have been sworn in the morning after the election.

All the man did was put in a simple request. It could not be accommodated. Obama was not upset by it. Why is it such a big deal to everyone else?

Because there's something called protocol to make things run smoothly in Washington. Obama's lack of it & lack of understanding it makes one wonder what else he doesn't understand about the presidency - most especially whether he understands that there are limitations to his power.

(And before you say anything, one of my biggest harangues against Bush was that he, too, did not understand the limitations on his power.)

He asked for a few extra days early for his kids to have a smooth transition to school. I hardly think this is a commentary on his ability to understand the power of the Presidency. He's also a dad, who made a simple query.
