I disagree. Rape is an awful crime and we should not tolerate it in any setting, for any victim. If they are guilty, these men did a terrible thing to a fellow human being and they should be punished. But not in that way.

Hmmm, Willhelm, good question. I think it was because the university was paying for the apartment. If they were on the university bowling team... it would probably have read "university athletes."

I agree with RMowery. While I agree with JKlugman to the extent of believing that those in for other/lesser crimes should not be punished in that way, but given the nature of their crime, it would be quite befitting for this lot.
