Leader?

I'm soft on Obama. He talks a good game but he has no cred. I don't think we want a tax and spender. There is nothing new generation about that.

Surely, surely the Democrats can do better than either of them for their future. It's the pecking order and the sense of having paid your dues that seems to move within politics...not leadership skills, integrity, experience, and moral courage. The times are way too serious to just be looking for someone *new* or a "fresh face".

Jatfla, I agree with you. I like Obama but certain things raise some serious flags for me. I will admit I thought about voting for him but I think you are right. I am deeply disturbed by some of the revelations of late. He does not have what it takes in my estimation and I do not see that he represents the values of most Americans. I will say this for him, he can talk smoothly.

jatfla, your comment humors me. The republican party is the part that is known for giving the nomination to the next republicans whose "turn" it is.

I wouldn't be critical of the Democratic party in this election year. The republicans hosted absolutely the worst field of candidates seen in years. You ended up with a candidate that the party despises. You had sleepwalker Fred Thompson, Mitt "who do you want me to be this week" Romney, The Huckster, rightwing neocon nobodys in Brownback, Hunter and Tancredo. Must we go on?

As far as fiscal responsibility is concerned the republicans have no business even opening their mouths. Nobody is better at racking up debt than a republican.
