Paradoxically it is also recommended for drivers of automobiles as a means of saving gasoline, for the same reason, takes less energy for the car to get started again after a stop sign, if it keeps rolling. It takes more energy to get it rolling again after coming to a complete stop. St. Louis car drivers have been practicing this for years, for that reason alone, it should be called the St. Louis stop.
