Reminds of the saying...

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

or something like that.

By definition, doesn't a freedom fighter have to be fighting for...freedom? And not the establishment of a radical Islamic theocracy?

Replace freedom fighter with martyr if you want.

Please don;t remind me of the term "freedom fighter" as it makes me ill at this early hour.. It reminds me too much of Reagan's and Ollie North's murdering raping Contras.

Oh by the way, I sure do miss Peter Ustinov. The man certainly was a class act.

Both sides also always claim to have God on their side. I know He's supposed to be all places at once, but I don't think that was quite what was meant.

Hi thisname, Peter died of a heart attack on March the 28th 2004 in Switzerland.

When, in an interview, he was once asked what he would like it to read on his tombstone, Ustinov replied "Please keep off the grass"

This is just one of the multitude of Ustinov witticisms.

I think you can call it terrorism when the guy wearing a ski mask lops the head off of the white guy on Al Jizeera.

And what this clip says is the guy wearing the ski mask doesn't think he's a terrorist. But he may think George Bush is.

If you want to understand terrorism, read the web sites by people in the Middle East who live in that environment. It is easy to think you understand what you don't have to deal with yourself. For them it is to accept subjugation by radical Islamists or to fight it. See my post. syzygy4

I wasn't making any sort of political statement here.

I felt like my physically and emotional abusive ex-husband was a terrorist, at the time. I was just quoting something that would cause people to THINK about the OVER-use of the word.

We hear the word "terrorism" or "terrorist" so many times, almost daily, in the USA, that I think many people don't even consider the fact that it doesn't mean simply radical Muslim extremists or factions that have or do wage war and attacks on the US. It has much broader implications, some of which have NOTHING to do with politics, but more with effect on the one BEING terrorized at the moment.

The word "terrorist" and the word "terrorism" have been pol...
