Vinegar, an old standby for a variety of household chores, is also said to be a potent herbicide. Then there’s corn gluten. I’m not sure what corn gluten is exactly, but it’s supposed to be a weed killer extraordinaire.

No surprise at Monsanto's reaction. Bastards.

It is good to see people are still looking for an alternative to Monsanto's monopoly. Keep the good new coming. It is sad to see the state of the world today made by big corporations just to produce a buck. Thanks for the riveting post on such a matter as this.

Lawns are a waste of space. The prettiest yards I've seen are little paths through patches of wild flowers or domestic flowers or the best yet and it's what my grandmother did and they do in Germany; they plant a vegetable garden and the flowers are natural pest repellents. There's beauty and food.

You're welcome, meadowislands. .

@tany
Lots of people want to become more self-sufficient and are "eating their lawns", instead of just having useless grass. I'd love to have a garden like that. Here's a link with a few pics of such a beautiful garden. Note the little before-and-after pic.

My wife does most of the yard work at our house. NO I'm not a slave driver. She likes it and I don't. Plus I'm remodeling the interior of our house. Theres an area in the back corner of our yard I have named "The Hospice" She plants stuff around the yard then doesn't tend to it. It eventually begins to wither so she moves it to the hospice, It eventually dies and winds up in the graveyard. The graveyard being a creek with high banks at the back of the property. It's a simple and sad process. But Hey what ever works ya know.

Unfortunately, I am a lawn snob. But TN already knows that

As long as I get to just hang out in the hammock, while you weed whack away, you can be ALL the snob you like, hunny.
