The thought that kept repeating it's self, was that we must never forget that cruelty, and refusal to recognize the suffering of others, is not a trait that is common to any race, culture, or nationality. It is a trait that has the potential to manifest it's self in any member of the human race. We always have to remember that while we cannot imagine ourselves generally in a situation, where this base characteristic could infect our actions, that life can take turns that present us with situations that cannot be understood at the time, can cause our resolve to crumble, and allow our actions to be directed by fear. We must never be complacent, and be on our guard, so that we can bear a cours...

Disturbing? Yes, & it should be because this is how we act by not paying attention to the little things in life that irritate us. Every time we experience polarization within ourself(anger, frustration, etc) that is, the spirit vs the material mind we have the opportunity to make a choice. If we have failed to give sufficient thought to the consequences & thought more of ourselves than of others in that instant I think we will each have to say it hasn't turned out all that well. I believe it is only through each of us continuing to make choices that take in all of us(Vibration of a #9) will the opportunity for real peace & security be possible. I must add that many of the comments on Cl...

Pockets,
Allenmarkowski,
I can only repeat mugofcoffee words:
profound truth!
Some of these pictures show us fatal moments, some show us lasting reality. Moments come and go – with different consequences; but lasting reality is what real horror is: living continually in horrible poverty, dying slowly from hunger, suffering never-ending humiliation and torture, slavery…
What really disturb us on these pictures are not pictures themselves; it is our conscience what disturbs us. These pictures question us. And these questions maybe go deeper than we like; they ask about our own responsibility.

I see here is still place for their address:

One of the things that these pictures remind us. How the image of one or a few people can burn our consciences, and provide evidence of the change, and revelation one person can offer. There was one Man before a Brace of tanks, but the tanks were stopped through the human decency that remained in the army. It strengthened our resolve to stand up against oppression. It was not that he survived, It was the idea that while his body may have been struck down, his spirit would have remained standing. The pictures of suffering connect with us on a personal level, that we could be in the same position, as opposed to the vague image of suffering imposed on a "Race","Faith", or "Nationality".
