darkeforce says: If you're rich, and you're white; laws and ethics don't apply to you — that's what we're being told. That's only what you believe. And reality to boot, but alas, you don't see it. — Comment removed by clipper — And POPPED for idiocy. Seems to me the cartoon is more about class rather than race. Oooh, that so mature CoT. I would explain to you what I see, but you probably miss it, so why bother? You know how average people screwed by the law while the rich screw everybody and get a free pass? Or a two tier legal system? Rings a bell? Probably not. Enjoy the echo of your own words. Oh, and ratifar, let me ask you a few questions. Are you working hard right now to help supply money for the government or for yourself? What happens if you start making a lot of money. Will you start giving it away so you do not become rich? If you do become rich, will you become corrupt as in the cartoon since the "rich" ? Are, you special and this only applies to "others"? OK, so if I'm rich and I screw it up instead of getting fired I should get a bailout from the goverment, therefore screwing the vast majority of taxpayers? The cartoon points at a very specific case, but even following your line of (il)logic I would stay pay may taxes because I would still want the benefits that being a law abiding citizen provides such as protection under law, fire, police and all the rest. Why would my having money change that? Clip-On-Tie's comment removed, due to it being irrelevant to the clip. The fact that it was trollish is beside the point. That's what everyone sees, other than you and the other Glen Beck Zombies, Jay8h. Why hasn't the US pressed charges against the handful of people they've definitively identified as being at the bottom of the Wall Street Crash? Have they forgotten what Fraud Charges are? We are being very clearly shown that if you're White and Rich, you can get away with ripping off other people; heck, you can even get rewarded for doing it, as the prisons are filled with poor people who, at best, conned people out of mere hundreds of dollars. That is the very definition of a double standard, and it is both sad and troubling that you can't see that, Jay. You really need to get help if you can't see that. Dark Force, that is a prejudicial statement that "if you're White and Rich, you can get away with ripping off other people; heck, you can even get rewarded for doing it". You are assuming that in regards to a few cases where the evidence was not there. Stanford is in jail as is Murdoff. They go to jail and they are white and were rich. Ratifar, according to this clip, if "if you're White and Rich, you can get away with ripping off other people". Is that what you would do, rip off other people? Jay, the exceptions in this case prove the rule. They single out a few of the crooks to make it look like they are "clamping down", as many, many others are ignored as they rip off people. The Government has a list of 12 people that are the architects of the Wall Street Crash, and they haven't filed charges against them at all. They haven't even confiscated their passports. Madoff's scam had nothing to do with the recent Wall Street Crash; neither does Stanford's. Nor does the Enron scam. Those were individual efforts; not part of the Rich/White class's culture of abuse of the poor and middle class. That is why they were caught; because there wasn't an Old Boy Network behind them to cover th... |
