Also known as "Holmes", he dominated the skateboarding scene for most of the 1980's and was the ultimate vert skater. As vert faded out of favor in the 1990's, so did Hosoi. He began using drugs heavily and hit rock bottom when he was arrested in 2000. Hosoi spent five years in jail and emerged as a born again Christian. His legacy and unique style were never forgotten, and he was welcomed back into the skateboarding world with open arms.
