Answer : Religion is a man made thing, with his views and opinions tossed in concurrent with the time (usually). Its all a matter of perspective sometimes. Not one person can say we were created by something holy or god-like, in reality scientists are seeing planets and stars being created by colliding particle's in space all the time. Gods and all religion were created by the human mind (thought up). Whether these were created to gain power over people by exclaiming they could talk to supernatural beings or just because they were weak minded and needed some sort of hope to keep them going on in life. I came from a very religious family and grew up reading and researching the bible. The more i learnt the more i understood how much bollocks religion is. This story isn't new in any way, this extremist and violent behaviour has been around since r... Religion is the excuse to act out one's fears. Religion is the easiest hook (for many) on which to hang one's national, cultural, and self identity and with internationalization/globalization the pressure is mounting on those identities. Here's another way to look at it, imagine losing Christmas along with all the cultural trappings that are associated with it (this assumes of course that you celebrate Christmas). Your children would no longer celebrate it, they might even hate it. Atheists above please, I understand your resentment for religion, we all get that. You think God does not exist and all religion is a boon upon the world and society. You think all we are is cells mutated over billions and billions of years to become what we are today is humans. I understand you believe there are no absolutes. Please explain to me, the issue of how our laws came about? Without religion, how did man understand the issue of Good and Evil, Right and Wrong? Without religion the aspect of "doing as ones feels is right" would be the norm, and just because it "feels" right, does not mean it is right.
