thisnamecantbetaken says: No matter who wins the electoral college, the 2008 presidential election will be a historic one, as the nation will send either an African-American or the oldest first-term president to the White House. A McCain win would also mean the first female vice president in the nation's history. The 2008 presidential election has proved to be the most expensive in history. Americans are expected to head to the polls in record numbers. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/04/election.president/index.html?eref=time_us It is an incredible American story. Part of that was the celebration in white, black, latino, asian, native american indian (and other) households from coast to coast. We're a multi-cultural country and this was a great multi-cultural victory -- a lot of joy in all our hearts. It's been wonderful. A surprising word and feeling many of us didn't think about till it happen, till it actually happen was: Proud. We feel very proud. We feel very proud. And so you should be! I think I can safely say, on behalf of a lot of non-Americans, that we are proud of you too. Not only did you finally do something to save your own sorry arses, *LOL*, but to have the Republicans out of power, has and is literally going ti save the lives of people around the world too. The "world" has been on the receiving end of Bush's killing spree and we're more than grateful, that his days in office FINALLY seem to be coming to an end. My joy at that prospect, knows no end. If I never see Bush's ugly face or evil policies ever again, it would not be a day too soon. . That's very kind of you to say, and encouraging. 65,319,143 million people here also ecstatically agree. |
