Amergin says: A true rival of Oscar the death sniffer. I think animals definitely have a sense that humans lack. about 8 years ago, my cat saved my life. I had been up grading papers late one night when I had an insulin reaction. I lost consciousness. My ex-husband was asleep in the other room, and the cat kept going in there and pouncing on him, then ran back to me. She did this over and over for about ten minutes, til he finally got up to see what the cat was freaking out about. He tried to wake me, discovered I was ice cold, and called 9-11. She knew something was seriously wrong with me. Beautiful story. I have often heard older generations in Ireland that you will always keep one true pet and friend who will help you in times of need. That was a wonderful story, hudgal1. Our cat saved our daughter's life one night. Our daughter was curled up, deep under the covers, at the foot of her bed, not getting any air. Our cat got me up and went directly to her. She's our hero. Another time, I had a migraine. She laid next to me, with her forehead on mine. We stayed like that for 3 hours. Finally, it went away. She's never done that before or since. I believe they have a 6th sense. Amazing creatures. |
