Silkweaver says: Positive emotions are good for memory so it seems. Victim testimony - from victims who were certain they had the right person ID'd as the perp - have surely sent a lot of innocent people to prison. What a relief for a victim to send someone to jail... reliable identification might well become secondary if not downright irrelevant. I've heard the same thing basically about any kind of memory. So, where is the truth? That's like saying your whole past life is a lie. Should we throw out the history books because maybe a lot of things that were said to have happened didn't really happen or weren't that bad. Even evidence with video is up for dispute because if more than one person takes a video the angle they're filming from changes the perspective of what's happening. One incident, two truths. throw in a third and what do you have. |
