The article is wrong. If you go to the Americal Physical Society website you will find the lead headine is:

APS Position Remains Unchanged

The APS has NOT changed its position.

Jatfla, at the bottom of the DailyTech article you clipped, there is a 7/17 update:

After publication of this story, the APS responded with a statement that its Physics and Society Forum is merely one unit within the APS, and its views do not reflect those of the Society at large.

I was referring to my tennis friends, elementary school-teacher friends, people at my grocery store. No "scientists" that I know of.
