So one of my goals, lately, is to come to grips with what the Model/View/Controller pattern is really all about. It was introduced to me a couple of years ago when a colleague of mine created the shell for our royalties application. I didn't understand the pattern very well and it wasn't really explained to us very well in the context of our application. So, I've always felt that I didn't have a good understanding of where to put my code.

Myself and the other primary developer worked with the shell as best we could. I'm sure there's code in places where it should be moved elsewhere, but we had to really focus on making the application work rather than strictly follow the pattern.

I've always been agitated at the fact that I didn't understand the pattern. I've wanted to go back and learn the pattern so we could refactor the application. So now I'm reading up on the pattern and this is the first of my notes.
