I read a similar story to this but it was about an IT guy that got his own back from a bullying boss. He exposed some files on his computer that were not supposed to be there.

I have advised on a few cases in which a system administrator was being fired. Changing passwords is the simple part. Dealing with the possibility of the company's illegal copies of Microsoft Office and Quickbooks is more complicated.
