As far as I can tell..this is S attempt to own the space by building in a authentication into software....it does seem that they are acting as a gate keeper.

What's happening here is good for the initial certification but once you authorize it there is nothing that prevents one from doing what one will. You are at the mercy of Windows security, which as we know, has some issues.
