Debating just the quote and not the point itself:

The quote you posted really doesn't mean much. If I throw 30 infantry at a tank and they all die before they take it out, and then someone else launches a cruise missile and takes it out without losing a single person, some how that means I (who sent in the infantry) won the war?

I did have a problem with the quote as it is technically accurate, it does not show how the Red Army fought the war in a way that it guaranteed larger casualties on their side.

But it does show the skewed view on which American exceptionalism is based on.

Ye, like the cavalry in the movies, always a bit late - except the wars that they start all by themselves.
