Milk was never intended to be drank beyond the weaned stages of life. If milk has to be fortified with additional nutrients during processing, I might think this should say a lot about whether it's truly beneficial to my diet. Maybe the idea was to get vitamins and nutrients into foods and beverages that humans commonly indulge in because they might not take a daily vitamin(s) otherwise.

Animals do not continue to breast feed their young beyond a certain stage. So why do humans feel that they need to drink milk into adulthood? There are other ways to obtain the nutrients.

We were drinking milk long before processing techniques came along.

Most of the rest of the world still drink milk straight from the udder, so it's not the processing techniques that make milk drinkable.

On a personal note, I love milk!
