No Child Left Behind actually has a provision to allow military recruiters to the same kind of academic and personal information that college recruiters get on high school students. Kids who never even exhibited any interest in the military are getting home phone calls, etc. since they have access to this info. You can opt your child out, however...I believe there is a form you can download and submit to the guidance counselor. They can do a lot of mind games with the kids when they have this information so opting out is a good step to take...especially if they are gullible and have a medical disability which doesn't seem to matter to the US Marines..."Anybody for Cannon Fodder" |
